The WD50 Midge is one of those flies you get to depend on it when the fish get smart and picky. This pattern is a variation of the WD-40 which was created by Mark Engler of Colorado in 1982. It imitates Midges or Blue Winged Olive emergers. The letters WD stand for Wood Duck, which is the material used for the tail and wing case. The WD-50 variation was created by Carl Stouts. The added flashy wing case and a wing stub gives it a new look.Hook sizes #18 to #22
