A chironomid is a large lake dwelling midge pupae that emerges in high altitude reservoirs early in the year and lasting all summer. These giant midges can grow as large as a number eight three extra long hook, and get down as small as about a size eighteen. These are the first active insects of the year in most lakes and the trout feed heavily on them right from the get go. This big midge pattern has a beautifully segmented body and gill tufts. Features two strands white and two strands black superhair, all wrapped at the same time. Hook sizes #12 to#18
