We cricket fly pattern just like a Dave’s hopper but all black. It has its great days on the river though. The cricket is a scrumptious meal for any trout and they commonly fall into rivers from shady banks. The trout will anxiously await them in the undercuts and logjams.Try drifting it, and if this doesn’t work, strip the fly, adding a motion like the cricket would if it were kicking at the water. Hook sizes #8 to #14
